Founder
Growing up in West Virginia, my love for cooking was nurtured by the delicious meals prepared by my family and friends. Memories flood back of my grandmother (June Terry) frying pork chops in Kimberly, WV, my mom (Ms. Tammy) whipping up taco salad in Union, and my dad (Scotty) crafting homemade pizzas. These moments were the foundation of my passion for food, and now, at Savory House Kitchen, I get to recreate these cherished childhood memories for my guests.
My culinary journey took a non-traditional path. After spending 13 years in corporate America post-college, I found myself in Texas where my interest and love for all things food blossomed. The joy I found in cooking for my co-workers and friends sparked a fire within me, leading me to pursue formal culinary training. With newfound skills and determination, I embarked on creating my catering company, Savory, with the mission of delivering exceptional food and unforgettable experiences at events.
The past three years have been a whirlwind of success and fulfillment. From our humble beginnings to where we stand now, our commitment remains unwavering – to offer our clients top-notch service and some of the most delectable dishes they've ever tasted. 'm Taylor Allen. I earned my associates degree in Culinary Arts from Central Piedmont Community College, specializing in Applied Sciences. With 8 years of culinary experience under my belt, my passion for cooking was ignited by moments spent in the kitchen with my loved ones. The joy of making others feel happy and satisfied through my food has driven me to pursue a career as a Chef. I take great pleasure in creating dishes that bring people together and cater to their special occasions, relishing in the delight that shows on their faces as they enjoy my culinary creations. -
The inspiration behind my culinary journey stems from my beloved grandmother, who ran her own catering business that I eagerly assisted with in my youth. The special moments spent bonding with her ignited a passion within me for cooking and exploring new flavors. Even though she is no longer with us, her memory lives on in my heart, spurring me to honor her legacy through my continued dedication to the art of cooking.
